Product usage
Are your headphones compatible with my device?
Our headphones are compatible with a wide range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, computers, and gaming consoles. We offer triple connectivity with USB digital audio, wireless, and analog connection options. If you have any specific compatibility concerns, feel free to reach out to our customer support team for assistance.
What can I connect to The Player One?
The Player One can be connected to almost any device:
- Wirelessly with all devices using Bluetooth.
- Digital HD audio via USB-C cable.
- Analog audio via 3.5mm aux cable.
How can I enjoy zero latency for gaming on a PC?
For zero latency, connect The Player One to your PC using the USB-C to USB-C cable.
What is the best way to connect The Player One to a computer?
For the most stable connection and zero latency, we recommend using the USB-C cable.
Can I use The Player One on Xbox and PlayStation?
Yes, you can connect the 3.5mm aux cable to your controller. Make sure the headphones are powered on. (Some controllers may need a 3.5mm adapter).
Does The Player One support the aptX codec for better sound quality?
Yes, The Player One supports aptX. Make sure your connected device also supports aptX to enjoy the enhanced sound quality.
Can I use The Player One when the battery is dead?
Yes, you can still use the headphones by connecting the 3.5mm analog cable to any device with a 3.5mm output (computer, Xbox, etc.).
When I connect to a computer with the USB-C cable, will The Player One charge the battery at the same time?
Yes, the battery will charge while you're using the USB-C connection.
Can I activate voice assistants (Siri, Google) with the headphones?
Yes, press and hold the right-side button for at least 3 seconds to activate your voice assistant.
Do you include adapters for in-flight entertainment?
Yes, we include a 3.5mm flight adapter. There is also a USB-C to USB-A adapter included for charging in flight.
Is there a power-saving mode?
Yes, The Player One will turn off after 15 minutes of inactivity if no audio signal is detected.
Will ANC stay on if there’s no music playing?
Yes, ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) will stay active even if there's no audio signal when Eco Mode is disabled.
How do I clean and maintain my headphones?
To clean your headphones, we recommend using a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe away any dirt or smudges. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these may damage the headphones. For more specific cleaning instructions, please refer to the user manual included with your headphones.
Can I control my music with the headphones?
Yes, the right-side button controls play/pause, as well as next/previous track functionality.
Can I take calls with the headphones?
Yes, simply press the right-side button to answer a call and press again to end it.
Can I charge The Player One while connected wirelessly with Bluetooth?
- Yes, if you’re using a standard charger.
- No, if you're charging via a USB-C cable connected to a computer. The cable connection takes priority over Bluetooth for audio.
For how long will the battery last?
- Up to 40 hours using Bluetooth at 80% volume.
- Up to 30 hours using Bluetooth with ANC at 80% volume.
Can I mute the mic (built-in & boom mic)?
Yes.
- To mute: Press the left-side button once (you'll hear sound feedback).
- To unmute: Press the left-side button again (sound feedback).
If using the boom mic, a red LED will indicate when it's muted.
Pre-orders
What is a pre-order, and how does it work?
A pre-order allows you to reserve a headphone before it becomes available for general purchase. By pre-ordering, you secure your place to receive the product as soon as it's released.
When will I receive my headphones if I pre-order?
The estimated shipping date for pre-ordered headphones will be provided at the time of purchase. We’ll keep you updated on any changes to the timeline.
Is there a benefit to pre-ordering these headphones?
Yes, pre-ordering ensures that you'll receive your headphones as soon as they're available, potentially before they sell out.
Troubleshooting
I get no sound when using the 3.5mm cable.
- Ensure the headphones are turned on.
- Check that all cable connections are secure.
- Adjust the volume levels on both the headphones and the connected device. If you're connected to a computer, check both the system volume and the volume in your media application.
I have trouble pairing my headphones with a Bluetooth device.
- To enter pairing mode, press the power button until you hear the “Searching” voice prompt. The Player One will appear in your Bluetooth settings.
- If you’ve paired the headphones to multiple devices, make sure they haven’t reconnected automatically. You may need to turn Bluetooth off on those devices.
- If you’re still having trouble, try resetting your headphones by pressing both the left and right side buttons for 6-10 seconds while in ON mode. Then re-pair your device.
I have trouble with audio & mic sound when connecting to:
- Connecting with USB-C cable to a computer: Make sure you have selected The Player One USB drivers in your sound settings. Select for both input and output sound.
- Connecting wirelessly via Bluetooth to a computer: Pair your Player One headphones with your computer. Ensure volume levels are adjusted on both the headphones and the computer.
Using Bluetooth and Discord:
In Discord sound settings, you have several choices in Voice/Video settings. We recommend testing both input and output selections, as The Player One can have two selections in Discord.
I use an Android phone, and the max volume is low.
Some Android versions limit maximum volume for hearing safety. Check your Android version’s settings to see how to override this feature.
Can I charge The Player One while connected wirelessly?
Yes, but note that Bluetooth cannot be used while charging with a USB-C cable connected to a computer.
